Moving Towards A Communicative Syllabus Design and English for Specific Purposes (ESP)

 The development of ESP, important ESP concepts, and problems with ESP syllabus design have all been covered in this study. My experience as an EFL,ESP instructor creating and implementing the topic-based language curriculum, Language Preparation for the Cadets and Employment in the Iraqi College of Police, helped identify the need that informed the paper's content. Whenever possible, these concerns have been backed up by recent and relevant scholarly research. I sincerely hope that these insights will help to clarify the difficulties that the ESL,EFL teacher who is also developing the ESP syllabus faces. By first defining English for Special Purposes (ESP), this study provides a theoretical review of the significant concept as a learner-centred approach. The survey then explains the origins of ESP, and other previous studies that have been conducted in Iraq.
